Imagine being able to transparently move PBX-generated services throughout your campus or metropolitan area network (MAN) by connecting to your packet-switched network - the very same "high speed" backbone that services your LAN-to-LAN users!.
The IPmux negates the need to upgrade PBX switches or existing campus infrastructures to a high maintenance circuit-emulation scheme (e.g. ATM). .This compact (1U high), low cost solution develops negligible delay between campus based PBX switches, while remaining totally transparent to all signaling protocols that run over T1/E1 trunks.. The IPmux uses a standard 10/100B-TX interface as its uplink port and can be ordered in either a 1 or 4 port (T1/E1) configuration. .The RAD unit does not compress individual voice calls (PCM signals) but, instead, uses "unconstrained" bandwidth to transmit full T1/E1 trunks end-to-end (TDMoIP).. This contrasts with VoIP products that compress channels first, prior to combining them with non-voice traffic for transmission over a WAN (bandwidth at a premium tactic).
